WAYS I WOULD SUBTLY MENTION MY RECENT INVENTION OF THE HOVERBOARD IN EVERYDAY CONVERSATION:
"yeah traffic was terrible yesterday. well, not for me, since i soared above it on my hoverboard."
"i like your hat. i would get one like it, but i'd probably lose it while riding my hoverboard."
"yes, this week has gone by fast- fast like the hoverboard i invented."
"excuse me. could you pick up my pen? unfortunately, it is susceptible to gravity, unlike my hoverboard."
"did someone say 'hoeverboard'? no? well, now that we're on the subject..."
"hoverboard! which i invented!"

SPECIES OF SPACES

february is a good month to love. and despite some recent personal tragedies, i have managed to fall in love with georges perec. at the moment i'm smack in the middle of reading life a user's manual and am giddy to finish. i was introduced through a class i'm taking this semester titled 'art practices and everyday life: the legacies of the readymade', taught by one of my absolute all-time favorites. thanks c!

thoughts on staircases: we don't think enough about staircases. nothing was more beautiful in old homes than the staircases. nothing is uglier, more hostile, in today's apartment buildings. we should learn to live more on staircases. but how?

FOOTBALL SUNDAY NEEDS TO MAKE WAY FOR GODARD SUNDAY. OR MORE SPECIFICALLY, BELMONDO.

early godard has been frequenting my free time. not that i have much of that, but i can always make time for belmondo. hubba hubba. it's too bad all that smoking turned him into this.

WHITE IS A COLOR

i love a good liar, oil on canvas, 48 x 60 inches, mary jakse strebinger 2010.
hear hear, i bring pixels of my newest painting. had a terrific crit last week- someone actually said it looked like it was painted by several different people, another claimed it reeked with vandalism! i love that! however, i think for the next works i need to be more direct in my pleasure and anger. your thoughts, my faithful comrades.
